Marshall Beattie Automation supplied and installed the Curved Automatic Sliding doors to the new City of Perth Library, these doors provide an elegant accessible entrance to provide access to the building which incorporates a graceful circular design and state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of the Perth CBD.

 

The new library building includes a multipurpose room, elevated terrace, library meeting rooms, exhibition space, provision for a café tenancy and amenities, and incorporates sustainable design features.

The building comprises seven levels including the ground level and an upper level and mezzanine for plant. It is a reinforced concrete structure with a glazed facade articulated with vertical members that are clad in stone.

In 2016, the City of Perth Library and public plaza won the prestigious George Temple Poole Award, awarded to the most highly regarded building of the year, at the Australian Institute of Architects WA Architecture Awards. It also won the Jeffrey Howlett Award for Public Architecture and the National Entertainment and Recreation Facility award at the Master Builders National Excellence in Building and Construction awards ceremony.

 

Other recent major projects Marshall Beattie Automation have completed include Perth District Courts sally ports, Casuarina Prison automated grills, multiple anti-ram barriers for the WA Prisons Service, University of Western Australia, Curtin University, and Perth Domestic and International Airports. In addition, Marshall Beattie Automation's gates, doors, barriers , turnstiles, and intercoms have been used for other high-end residential projects, commercial projects industrial projects and recreational facilities.
